from the alumni affairs dean

IN RESPONSE TO SUGGESTIONS FROM Stanford Medical Alumni Association (SMAA) members, we have been working to improve communications between the medical school and our membership. An SMAA Web site is now in place and is continually being updated to allow members to stay informed about school events and the activities of classmates. A new SMAA directory was recently published in both a printed edition and on CD-ROM. Reports on the twice-yearly SMAA board of governors' meetings have begun appearing in Stanford MD to apprise members of board activities and decisions. The upcoming issue will carry a report on the latest meeting.

Effective communications have to be a two-way street -- We welcome and NEED your input on where you are and what you are doing. To help us respond to your ideas and concerns we are developing a letters to the editor section in the alumni pages of Stanford Medicine.
